    ENROLLMENT & PERMIT INFORMATION

    • Intra-district Permit Information (within District)
      • EC 35160.5 (b) Residents of the District may apply to other schools within the District for their child to attend on a space available basis. Information on each school within the District is provided on the District website. Parents of high-school athletes should check on CIF sports eligibility rules before pursuing open enrollment. Transportation to any other school is the responsibility of the parent. Note: Internal choice is not applicable to districts with only one school, or schools that do not serve any of the same grade levels.

        Parents can apply for an intradistrict permit at the Rosemead School District Educational Services Department. Parents seeking a permit must complete an Intradistrict Permit application. All applications submitted will be reviewed by the Educational Services Department and applicants will be notified within 5 business days.

    • Inter-district Permit Information (outside District)
      • EC 46600 The parent or legal guardian of a pupil may seek release from their home district to attend a school in any other school district. The terms and conditions for release or acceptance are set by the home and accepting districts. School districts may enter into agreements for the interdistrict transfer of one or more pupils for a period of up to five years.

        Outside Residents Seeking a Permit to Attend a School in the Rosemead School District (RSD)
        All applicants must first obtain a release from his/her home school district. Once a release is obtained, the applicant must submit the release to the Rosemead School District Educational Services Department and complete a Rosemead School District Interdistrict Permit application. All applications submitted will be reviewed by the Educational Services Department and applicants will be notified within 5 business days.

        RSD Resident Seeking a Permit to Attend a School Outside the RSD
        Parents can apply for an interdistrict permit at the Rosemead School District Educational Services Department. Applicants seeking a permit must complete an Interdistrict Permit application. All applicants must provide proper justification for requesting a release from the Rosemead School District. Releases will only be granted to applicants that provide proper justification and documentation for attending a school outside the Rosemead School DIstrict.
