Good evening, Encinita Leaders!

Happy Father’s Day!

This is your principal, Dr. Chang, with a few words of gratitude.

With my short 2 months here at Encinita thus far, I know that our school has something extremely rare. We have a collaborative and selfless family doing everything possible to give our students the best educational experience.

That was apparent when we reached our goal of raising $5,000 from our Jog-a-thon. Your presence at the Jog-a-Thon made it even more motivational for our students. Our first ever Lunch on the Lawn was a win-win! Parents learned about literacy resources and tips before having lunch with their children. During end-of-year celebrations with our classes like picnics, pool parties, field trips, I saw many volunteers setting up, serving and offering assistance whenever needed. Our 6th grade and Kindergarten promotion ceremonies were lovely and beautifully decorated thanks to our staff and volunteers. At the end of the day, our PTA truly deserves a standing ovation for ensuring that our school events are well coordinated and funded. PTA funds and coordinates classroom field trips, school performances, technology needs, promotion ceremonies, classroom supplies, campus beautification, community events, afternoon snacks and much more!  We also thank our families and staff for serving on our school committees like School Site Council, DAC and ELAC, partnering with us to make the best decision to support student learning with our school budget. We also are grateful for our community partners for supporting school programs and beautification efforts. Special thanks to the Panda Corporation for funding our Leader in Me program, Home Depot for our promotion ceremony flowers and Jesse Chang planting the gorgeous flowers on our campus. Thank you to our dedicated and hardworking staff at Encinita and our District for striving continually to give the best care and education to our families. Finally, we thank our amazing students for being leaders and lifelong learners. You make our school.
