This is your principal, Dr. Chang, with your Sunday Night Message for the week of January 31, 2022.


Monday, January 31: Pupil Free Day; No School

There is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 31. It is a professional development day for all Rosemead School District employees. Our school office will be closed.


Welcome, Interim Principal, Mrs. Ford:

Starting February 1st, Mrs. Ford will be serving as the interim principal at Encinita. Mrs. Ford is a retired educator who comes with many years of experience as a school psychologist and assistant principal at Muscatel Middle School. I know you will give her such a warm welcome. 


Tuesday, February 1: Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year, Encinita Family! The first day of the Lunar New Year is February 1st and the 15-day celebration ends on February 15. I wish you all a very healthy, happy and prosperous new year!


Tuesday, February 1: First day of Black History Month

This month, our students will learn more about Black History, honoring and learning from the triumphs and struggles of African-Americans throughout American History. 


Wednesday, February 2: Late Start Wednesday

School starts at 9:30am this Wednesday. Gates open at 9 am. 


Wildly Important Goal Scoreboard:

Our Wildly Important Goal this year is to have at least 80% of our students passing iReady math lessons. For the month of January, we want to congratulate 3rd grade for having 100% of students passing lessons. Schoolwide, we are at 87% for the month of January. We are so proud of our students’ achievements and closing the achievement gap. 

Saturday, February 5: Vaccine Clinic

Our next Covid-19 vaccine clinic is this Saturday, February 5 at Savannah Elementary School located at 3720 Rio Hondo Avenue, Rosemead 91770 from 8am-12pm.


Next Superintendent's Parent Meeting: February 16, 2022 at 6:00pm.
