Superintendent D'Agostino's Weekly Communique - Issue 52 - Dr. King's Vision Continues Through Public Education and Families

Dear Rosemead Families and Community,

I hope you had a restful three-day weekend. I am always trying to look for renewed meaning in events, and as I reflect on the meaning of Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday in the context of our shared goal to raise smart and healthy students, I am reminded that Dr. King’s legacy lives not only in our schools and public institutions, but most powerfully in our homes and communities. Our parents play a central role in shaping the values, beliefs, and civic character of the next generation. The conversations you have at the dinner table, the questions you encourage your children to ask, and the examples you set through your own actions all help shape who they become as thinkers, citizens, and neighbors. Now, more than ever, our children need role models who live the values that Dr. King preached.

Superintendent D'Agostino's Weekly Communique - January is School Board Appreciation Month

Dear Rosemead School District Colleagues, Families, and Friends,

There are many people who work tirelessly for the students and families of our district, and behind all those employees are our biggest cheerleaders: The Board of Trustees. In honor of January being School Board Appreciation Month, I felt it was time to recognize and honor the dedicated individuals who serve on our School Board and provide steadfast leadership in support of student success.

Each of our Trustees volunteers countless hours to make thoughtful, student-centered decisions that guide the direction of our schools and district. Their work often happens behind the scenes, yet its impact is felt daily in our classrooms, programs, and services. Through careful governance, collaboration, and a deep commitment to equity and excellence, they help ensure that every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities.
