Dear Rosemead Families and Community,

Anniversaries have a way of reminding us of what’s important. At this time last year, we were dealing with exceptionally hot temperatures; this year, we have experienced an unusual combination of wet weather, humidity, and muggy days. California weather has a way of keeping us on our toes and in our schools; today, the thunder and potential storms moved our PE classes indoors. We adjust, adapt, and keep moving forward, making whatever changes are necessary to ensure that our students remain safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.

Dear Rosemead Families and Community,

As we begin our second week of school, I want to thank you for helping us start the year with such positive energy! The opening days of school in our district brought excitement and adjustments, and our students have done an excellent job reconnecting with friends, learning classroom expectations, and becoming comfortable with new routines.

Our teachers, principals, and support staff are closely monitoring how students are adjusting across academic, social, and emotional domains. The fi rst few days of any school year can be challenging…I remember, as a teacher, getting nauseous the night before the fi rst day of school from worrying about doing a good job and setting the right tone at the beginning of the school year! If your child is experiencing uneasiness, we are here to help and support you. Do not hesitate to contact your school’s principal.

Rosemead School District Announces that All Students will be Served Breakfast and Lunch at No Charge for the 2026-2027 School Year

Rosemead, California: The Rosemead School District announced its policy for serving meals to students under the National School Lunch & School Breakfast Programs for the 2026-2027 school year.  All students will be served breakfast and lunch at no charge at all school sites.

Dear Rosemead School District Families and Community,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope your summer break was relaxing and rejuvenating. As we begin another exciting year together, I am proud to introduce our district theme: Elevating Ourselves and Our Work.

To elevate means to rise to a higher level and to challenge ourselves, to grow, and to become the very best version of ourselves. This simple but powerful word represents what I want for every student, every family, and every member of our Rosemead School District community in the 2026-2027 school year.

For our students, I want Elevate to be a call to dream big. I want every child to believe that their possibilities are greater than they may imagine today. I want them to ask questions, embrace challenges, try their best, learn from mistakes, and continually strive to reach new levels of learning and personal growth. Whether a student is discovering a new passion, mastering a challenging concept, building a friendship, or finding their voice, I want them to know: you can always elevate yourselves.

Dear Rosemead Families and Community,
I hope you have been enjoying your summer and staying cool at the same time! As the start of the 2026-2027 school year gets closer, I encourage you to take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities our region offers for families to learn, explore, and have fun together—without spending a lot of money. Summer break is a precious time to connect with your children, and families can have some of the best learning experiences when they share time with one another on a family outing.

Here are just a few ideas that you can squeeze in before the school year starts, combining education with entertainment:
● Visit a local library. The Los Angeles County Library and neighboring public libraries offer free story times, STEM activities, arts and crafts, and reading programs for children of all ages.
